Apologies for an incomplete update this week, as we don’t have access to the full reports. Padre got another nice fish of around 8lb from the Back of the Island. Mark, from the Netherlands, landed a cracking 4lb brown trout and lost a fish in the Woody. On Saturday, Jack B. landed a very nice fish of 90cm from the tail of the Flats towards the end of the day, taken on a black and purple dressed fly with a floating head and brown tip.
The significant rise in water on Wednesday night seems to have seen some of the many resident fish move on, which is perhaps no bad thing. Tight lines.
Week of 14 September has been a good one with plenty fish spread throughout our beats and being landed and safely released. Thursday 17 was a bit of a red letter day with a decent number of fish landed from the Grain and Back of the Island. Special congratulations to Joe who got a hat trick in very short time fishing with relatively light gear. The ‘Ghillie’ also continues his good run with two double figure fish.
It is also good to report that we now have our much awaited new shed for storing the barbecue and other items, and thanks to all who contributed.
Many fish being seen and landed — no full report yet, but J. Boyle got a superb 1lb finnock from Bunkers after a great scrap, Alan Lumsden had a fish from the Grain, Ross Cuthbertson had three good fish in two short sessions, and Gordon MacPherson continues his successful season with a fine 12lb hen fish from the Grain.
